						Den Faden Aufnehmen is an artist book designed in collaboration with the german artist Jeanne Schmidt. The project focuses on themes such as ambiguous loss and disenfranchised grief, particularly in the context of adults who grew up with mentally ill parents. The publication is conceived as a tool for self-help and reflection, and was created in connection with workshops developed by the artist involving embroidery, drawing, writing, and dialogue.


The book consists of a four-part Leporello structure, including an introductory booklet, a manual with exercises, a documentation section, and a collection of resources. It also contains a set of 34 double-sided cards combining hand-drawn illustrations by the artist with informative texts and prompts for creative exploration.


The design emphasizes tactility, modularity, and accessibility. Each card and section is meant to be rearranged, laid out, and used interactively by the reader. The soft colors, hand-lettered elements, and minimalist layout reflect the sensitive nature of the topic, while also highlighting the clarity and structure of the content. The result is a publication that merges editorial design with pedagogical function—offering readers a space for engagement, reflection, and emotional connection.

	Element Magazine is the only printed magazine of contemporary culture in Panama. In 2015, the owners asked me to redesign the entire magazine, seeking to visually capture the high quality of the contents already in place under the current Editorial Direction of artist Ehrior Sanabria.

I developed a design that provided visual variety within a scheme of columns that gave structure and order to the contents. The vertical axis became an emblematic tool of the magazine and is present both on the cover and on the inside pages.

The redesign of Element Magazine was selected, published and exhibited in 2016 by the Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid (BID-DIMAD), as well as published as part of the Domestika Portafolio in 2020 (Best Colombian creatives under 30 years old).

I was in charge of the Design and Art Direction of the magazine between 2015 and 2021.

						Eigenart is the student magazine of the University
of the Arts Berlin. In this issue, the topic of
Hybrid Realities addresses the challenges of
living in a world halfway between analog and
digital. For the design, I decided to go back to
the magazine’s archive, which has been published since the 1990s, a time when graphic
design began to be widely developed on com-
puters. The layout of each double page is based
on the hybridization of two or more layouts
from past editions put at the service of current
information. In the upper left corner is indicated
which editions are referenced.

	Paréntesis is a publishing project that uses collaborative strategies to help print texts by unpublished authors and distribute them secretly in traditional publishing circles. Since 2022, an open international call has been running, inviting authors to send literary texts the length of an A4 page (short stories, poems, essays, fragments of longer works, etc.) to be printed and then hidden in books of their choice in bookstores and libraries around the world. To this end, Paréntesis has a network of cooperation partners made up of artists, writers and cultural workers who voluntarily print the texts at home or in copy shops for less than one euro, then hide them and document the process with photos. 
In this way, Paréntesis aims to create an alternative literary archive that circulates hidden within the structures of traditional publishing distribution and is always waiting to be discovered.

To date, with the voluntary support of 20 cooperation partners, around 50 literary texts have been printed and hidden in 8 countries and in 4 different languages, in parts of the world as diverse as Ghana, Bolivia and Germany. 						This is a book of experimental poetry by the author Leandro Vinasco, in which he critically
explores the relationship between poetry and the
capitalist, hyper-productive and hyper-consumerist
system. 
For the cover I designed a barcode using
the sentence be a better slave every day, which is
repeated several times throughout the poems.
Inside, multiple graphic elements are used as part
of the design to question the aesthetics ofthe poetry itself: for example, annotations of the
creative process extracted from the author’s notebooks,
typographic deconstructions of the poems or textual
superimpositions through translucent paper.

						This is a personal portfolio, conceptualized and produced in 2020, which gathers not only multiple design works developed during the last 5 years, but also some reflections on my artistic and creative work. 
To do this I categorized and arranged the projects based on things or ideas that I believe in, connecting my works with a daily reflective practice about society, historic memory, politics and why make art and design in those contexts.

					“13.518 words” is an ongoing portfolio project I started back in 2021. Its name refers to
the exact number of words the publication contains. 
For the last years, I have been working
 on participatory art projects, printed books, editorial design, visual communication
as well as in creative writing projects, which allowed me to intuitively develop a fundamental axis of work that runs throughout all my
artistic creations: words. Whether written, oral or used as an image,
they are presented in my work as the objects of study themselves, as
narratives, or as the indispensable resource through which the projects are developed. This publication shows artistic and design projects
intertwined with ideas, processes, understandings and results of
what I consider a word-based art and design. In this way, each
booklet of the portfolio explores an idea about words as a commu-
nication resource and as an agent of social transformation.

					
Ultimately, my attempt is to connect with people in order to create spaces of listening and dialogue in my community.
